The earlier you treat a bug bite the better. It is very important that you seek medical attention as soon as possible. Have raw onion with meals particularly with dinner.
To treat a sting, remove the stinger, clean the area with water, gentle soap or disinfectant and apply antiseptic cream. Check for and remove stings or tentacles from the skin. Apply an ice pack for 10 to 20 minutes to cool the skin, relieve pain and swelling .
Rub banana peel on your bug bites and rashes to stop the itching. This will also reduce the swelling if any.
Drink 2 to 3 teaspoon coriander (dhania) leaf juice mixed in 1 cup water. Another approach is to put the mashed coriander on the bite. Hold it there with a little tape or a bandage if necessary.
Mix baking soda with a little water and paste it over the bite. This helps bring out the venom.
Take some neem oil and add little sesame oil to it. Apply this on bite. Wash off after 10 - 15 minutes.
Dab a mixture of sandalwood, turmeric and lavender oil on insect bites for immediate relief from swelling and itchiness.
Chew 10 - 15 basil leaves three times a day. Also crush some fresh leaves on a bite to release the extract, it will stop itching.
